A separate ticket for children under seven

Starting from September 1, 2025, it will be possible to purchase a personal travel card for children under seven years old. When purchasing the card, you must load it with Value (Arvo). However, no value will be deducted from the card when travelling by bus. Children under seven travel free of charge. Value will only start being deducted once the child turns seven.

The travel card for children under seven can be purchased only at Waltti service points. This product cannot be bought from sales agents, the Waltti online store, or the Waltti Mobile app. The child’s age must be verified at the time of purchase with a Kela card or another official ID.

A junior-priced season ticket can be purchased for the card only after the child turns seven. When the child turns seven, the card will automatically switch to the junior age group based on the date of birth. After that, it will no longer grant free travel. The Value initially loaded on the card can then be used to buy tickets, and the card can be used for junior products (ages 7–16) such as a season ticket or Value.

This new ticket option makes travelling easier, for example, for children starting school who have not yet turned seven when the school year begins.
