Ticket types

On Kotka Region Transport services, you can pay for your journey in cash, by contactless payment, Waltti travel card or with a pre-purchased mobile ticket (e.g. Waltti Mobile app).

Available for purchase with local payment, cash, Waltti card, Waltti Mobile app and partner mobile apps.

  • Waltti Value is available for junior, student, adult, and senior tickets.
  • Waltti Mobile and cash are available for junior and adult tickets. The adult ticket can be purchased with contactless payment.
  • The ticket is personal.
  • Only one person can pay for a ticket with contactless payment. Other payment methods allow you to buy a ticket for more than one passenger.
  • The ticket must be displayed on the reader when boarding the bus. A cash ticket can be purchased from the driver in the vehicle.
  • The price is determined by the payment method and the number of travel zones.
  • When paying in cash, it’s recommended to have the exact amount, as the driver will accept a maximum of €20 banknotes.
  • A Value ticket reduces the amount of money loaded on the card by the cost of the journey made. Senior and student vouchers are personal, and the second passenger’s fare is based on the adult price.
  • The transfer validity is 60 minutes when paying with cash or Arvo value card. With a mobile ticket or contactless payment, the transfer validity is 90 minutes. For a journey between two zones, the ticket’s transfer validity is 90, regardless of the fare. The ticket is valid only within the zones specified on the ticket. The validity period and zones are displayed on both mobile and paper tickets.
  • If you are traveling a two-zone journey with a single ticket that includes a transfer, you must purchase a ticket for the correct number of zones in the first vehicle. Otherwise, a new ticket must be purchased for the connecting journey crossing the zone boundary. The driver cannot charge only the difference between zone prices, even if the transfer validity on the ticket is still active.
  • A personal Waltti card can have both a season ticket and value on it at the same time. If the card has both, the on-board device will prioritize the season ticket. If you wish to pay for a journey using the value, you must select “Poikkeus matka” before stamping the card.
  • Stamping (or re-stamping) during the antipass period is not allowed. The exchange will only work after the antipass period, i.e., at least 2 minutes after the ticket has been stamped. If the Waltti card is stamped within 2 minutes of the previous stamping, a new value ticket price will be charged, or the card will be surcharged for multiple use.
