From 9 December 2024, new route exceptions and timetable adjustments will take effect in the city centre and Karhula, lasting until 1 June 2025. These changes are primarily due to the renovation of Karhula’s infrastructure. To offset increased travel times, the Kotka bus station will remain the departure point for local services until June 2025.

- 2 December 2024: Route changes for lines 27, 27M, and 27R begin.
- 5 December 2024: New timetables will be available online.
- 30 November 2024: Changes will be updated in the route guide (kotka.digitransit.fi) and Waltti Mobile.

- Lines 5B/5C/5R: Tiutinen – Karhula
- Line 6B: Suulisniemi – Karhula

- Line 35B: Huruksela – Karhula
- Line 37B: Karhula – Mäntykangas – Ristinkallio – Karhula
- Line P015: City Centre – Karhula – Sunila – Rantahaka
Changes to Stops in the City Centre (From 9 December 2024):
- Affected lines: 1, 1A, 9, 27, 27M, 27R, P015
- Buses 1, 1A, 9, and P015 will no longer pass through the square. After the bus station, they will stop at Kotkankatu (K7) and the railway station (K28).
- Routes 1K and 9J will continue running via the square.
Arrival adjustments:
- Buses 1, 1A, 9, 27, 27M, and 27R will now approach the city centre via Kotkantie. They don’t go anymore via Satamakatu, Ruukinkatu and Kirkkokatu.
- An exception applies to the 7:35 service of line 27M, which will detour via Satamakatu and Ruukinkatu.
Changes to the stops in the Karhula – Alahovi – Käpylä – Rauhala area:
- Line 6B: Departure at 6:08 from Karhula (Mon-Fri).
- Line 9B and P009: Ylänummi/Juurikorpi – Karhula.
- Lines 25S, 25T, 25Y: Minor adjustments.
- Line 34B: Saturday services updated.
- Line 35B: Morning weekday service adjustments.
- Line 37B: Shift at 16:10 from Karhula.
Changes to stops between Karhula – Hovinsaari:
- Line 6 Suulisniemi – Karhula – Keskusta. Note: the code of line 6 from Suulisniemi to the centre will be line 6M. Route of line 6M: Line 6M
Route changes in the area of Keltakallio – Saksala:
- Line 9J Karhula – Juurikorpi; from Karhula weekdays 6:50 and 8:00. Saturdays 6:50 from Karhula.
