The VAT rate for local transport will increase from 10% to 14% on January 1, 2025. Transport services in the Kotka region will apply this VAT increase to fares as required. The change from a 10% to a 14% VAT rate corresponds to a 3.74% increase in fares. However, the fare adjustments will also account for the need to round up customer fares. The new fares were approved by the Public Transport Committee on November 27, 2024.
Price list valid from January 1 to March 4, 2025.
On March 5, 2025, a more extensive fare and zone reform will be introduced, with details to be announced early in the year.
Goods and services currently subject to the reduced VAT rate of 10% will now be subject to the revised reduced rate of 14%. This includes passenger transport services such as buses, trains, taxis, and domestic air travel.
