Public holidays and school holidays

School Christmas break 2025–2026 (December 21, 2025–January 6, 2026)
On weekdays, services marked “koulp.” will not run, but other services will run as normal, as will services that are specifically marked as running during school holidays.

New Year’s Eve
On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, New Year’s Eve, normal Wednesday service will be provided, as well as night shifts on lines 1 and 13 on Friday and Saturday nights.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, New Year’s Day, Sunday service will operate.

Epiphany
On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Sunday service will operate.

School winter break week February 23–27, 2026
Services marked “koulp.” will not run, but other services will run as normal, as will services that are specifically marked as running during school holidays.

Easter

• On Thursday, April 2, 2026, Maundy Thursday, normal weekday service will operate (as on a Thursday).
• On Friday, April 3, 2026, Good Friday, Sunday service will operate + night services on line 1 from 00:00 and on line 13 from 23:00.
• On Saturday, April 4, 2025, normal Saturday service will be provided, including night shifts on line 1 starting at 0:00 and on line 13 starting at 23:00.
• On Sunday, April 5, 2026, Easter Day, Sunday service will be in operation.
• On Monday, April 6, 2026, Easter Monday, Sunday service will be in operation.

May Day
On Thursday, April 30, 2026, on the eve of May Day, normal service will run, and in addition, night shifts will run on line 1 from midnight and on line 13 from 11 p.m. on the night between April 30 and May 1.
On May 1, 2026, May Day, Sunday service will operate. Line 18 will not operate.

Ascension Day
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, Sunday service will operate. Line 18 will not operate.

Last day of school on Saturday, May 30, 2026
Normal Saturday schedules will be in effect, with the exception of Hamina, where some school day services will also run later according to schedules to be announced separately.

Services on Previous Holidays and Public Holidays

Winter Holiday Week: 24.–28.2.2025
Services marked as “koulp.” (school day services) will not operate. Other services, including those marked for school holidays, will run as normal.

Easter

• 17.4.2025 (Easter Thursday): Normal weekday services will operate (according to Thursday schedules).
• 18.4.2025 (Good Friday): Sunday service will operate, along with night services on line 1 starting at 00:00 and on line 13 starting at 23:00.
• 19.4.2025 (Easter Saturday): Normal Saturday services will operate, including night services on line 1 starting at 00:00 and on line 13 starting at 23:00.
• 20.4.2025 (Easter Day): Sunday service will operate.
• 21.4.2025 (Second Easter Day): Sunday service will operate.

May Day

• 30.4.2025 (May Day Eve): Normal services will operate. In addition, night services on lines 1 and 13 will run from 23:00 to 02:00.
• 1.5.2025 (May Day): Sunday services will operate. Please note that line 18 will not operate.

School Holiday (in Kotka) 2.5.2025
On this day, there will be no school-day services on internal lines in Kotka. However, on the Kotka–Pyhtää and Kotka–Hamina lines, school-day services will still operate.

Ascension Day – 29.5.2025
Sunday services will operate.

School Closing Day (Saturday, 31 May 2025)
Normal Saturday timetables will apply, except in Hamina, where some school-day services will also run on timetables to be announced later.

School Summer Holidays (2 June – 6 August 2025)
During the school summer holidays, summer timetables will be in effect.

Midsummer
On Midsummer Eve (Friday, 20 June 2025), Saturday services will operate until 13:00. Services starting at 13:00 will continue until the end of the day.
After 13:00, the following services will be available:

• Line 1:
  • Kotka → Hamina at 13:05, 14:05, 16:05, and 18:05
  • Hamina → Kotka at 13:05, 15:05, 17:05, and 19:05
• Line 25S:
  • Kantasatama → Suulisniemi at 13:40, 15:40, 17:40, and 19:40
  • Suulisniemi → Kantasatama at 14:30, 16:30, and 18:30
• Line 23S: All Saturday services (Central ↔ Santalahti) will follow the normal timetable.
• Line 98V: All Saturday services (Kotka ↔ Valkmusa) will follow the normal timetable.

On Midsummer Day (Saturday, 21 June 2025), the following services will be operated:

• Line 1:
  • Kotka → Hamina at 10:05, 12:05, 14:05, 16:05, and 18:05
  • Hamina → Kotka at 11:05, 13:05, 15:05, 17:05, and 19:05
• Line 25S:
  • Kantasatama → Suulisniemi at 11:40, 13:40, 15:40, 17:40, and 19:40
  • Suulisniemi → Kantasatama at 12:30, 14:30, 16:30, and 18:30

Autumn Semester Start (7 August 2025)
Winter timetables for 2025–2026 will come into effect.

Autumn School Holidays (20–24 October 2025, Week 43)
Services will operate according to school holiday schedules. Regular traffic will continue, except for routes specifically marked for school/school-day service.

All Saints’ Day (Saturday, 1 November 2025)
Sunday services will be in effect. Additionally, night services will operate on lines 1 and 13 during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

Independence Day (Saturday, 6 December 2025)
Sunday services will be in effect. Night services will also operate on lines 1 and 13 during the night from Friday to Saturday.

Last day of school: Saturday, December 20, 2025
Normal Saturday schedules will apply, with the exception of Hamina, where some school day shifts will run.

Christmas 2025 (read more)

• On Tuesday, December 23, normal Tuesday services will run.
• On Wednesday, December 24, Christmas Eve, Saturday services will run until 1 p.m. After that, some services will run on lines 1 and 25S. In addition, services to cemeteries in Kotka will run on lines 18 and 19.
• On Thursday, December 25, Christmas Day, certain services will run on line 1 Kotka–Hamina and line 25S.
• On Friday, December 26, Boxing Day/Second Christmas Day, Sunday services will run.
